[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] SK Rent-a-Car announced on the 9th that it has become the first in the industry to obtain the 'Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP)' certification in the Software as a Service (SaaS) sector for 'G-SmartLink,' a comprehensive vehicle management solution for public institutions based on the comprehensive vehicle management solution 'SmartLink.'
CSAP is a system operated by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) that evaluates and certifies compliance with information protection standards under Article 23, Paragraph 2 of the Act on the Development of Cloud Computing and Protection of Users, enabling users to safely use cloud services. In particular, CSAP certification is mandatory for private businesses to provide cloud services to public institutions.
The SaaS simple-level certification acquired by SK Rent-a-Car consists of a total of 30 control items across 11 areas, including administrative and technical protective measures and additional protective measures for cloud computing services for public institutions. SK Rent-a-Car explained that it underwent a rigorous evaluation process lasting about six months and was certified for compliance with all items.
SmartLink is a comprehensive vehicle management solution independently developed by SK Rent-a-Car in 2017, offering various services such as vehicle management based on real-time driving information and a car-sharing function that shares company vehicles.
Several public institutions use the SmartLink service by building their own servers and manage shared vehicles in an integrated manner. This enables efficient vehicle dispatch during public service support, resulting in budget savings through a reduction in the number of vehicles operated, as well as simplification of vehicle management and driving log preparation tasks.
An SK Rent-a-Car official stated, "Through national official certification, we have established a foundation to provide stable services based on public cloud, moving away from the separate independent server construction method," and added, "We plan to apply for service registration in the Digital Service Utilization Support System soon to make it easier for public institutions to use SmartLink."
