[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ Freshway, a CJ Group company specializing in food ingredient distribution and group catering, has partnered with Hanyang Women’s University to support the production of online and offline promotional content for franchise dining clients.
As part of an industry-academia collaboration with Hanyang Women’s University, CJ Freshway held a 'Capstone Design' competition on the 7th at the university’s library, 3rd-floor lecture hall. Capstone Design is a program where students take the lead in solving challenges proposed by companies. This competition was organized to cultivate professionals specialized in the food industry and to strengthen the promotional content competitiveness of CJ Freshway’s franchise dining clients to whom it supplies food ingredients.
The Capstone Design competition themes set by CJ Freshway included two categories for its dining clients: ▲brand promotional video production and ▲goods and package design production. The five dining clients receiving content production support in this competition were ‘Kim Junho’s Daedanhan Galbi’, ‘Geumbyeol Beer’, ‘Tteumdeulida’, ‘Deopbap 90 Degrees Celsius’, and ‘Dwaejigetti’. Each company held an orientation session in September to share brand information and content direction. Based on this, Hanyang Women’s University students planned and produced promotional videos and designs tailored to the concepts and target audiences of their chosen brands.
In the promotional video category for CJ Freshway’s dining clients, student Jise-young, who produced the promotional video for ‘Kim Junho’s Daedanhan Galbi’, won the grand prize. The team was highly praised for cleverly introducing the takeout-only meal kit product of ‘Daedanhan Galbi’, which can be conveniently purchased at a 24-hour unmanned store.
In the goods and package design category, participated in by industrial design students, the Sturgler team (students Kang Ga-yeon, Park Young-joo, and Oh Ji-woo) won the grand prize for designing ‘Geumbyeol Beer’ beer tumblers, ice cubes, and characters in 3D. They received excellent evaluations for implementing various flower-shaped designs as goods and packaging, inspired by the luxurious and glamorous atmosphere of Geumbyeol Beer.
CJ Freshway awarded certificates to the winning Hanyang Women’s University students at the competition and provided scholarships to the grand prize teams. Some of the content presented at the competition will be finalized and, after signing usage contracts with the students, will be used as promotional materials for CJ Freshway’s dining clients.
At the competition, Um Shin-young, CEO of ‘Kim Junho’s Daedanhan Galbi’ and a judge, said, “I am grateful to the students who developed diverse promotional content by incorporating the latest trends into the brand concept,” adding, “I am pleased to receive support not only in food ingredient distribution but also in business operations such as promotion and marketing through CJ Freshway.”
Kim Jin-jung, Head of Distribution Business Division at CJ Freshway, said, “Through this Capstone Design competition, we hope that not only will Hanyang Women’s University students enhance their practical skills, but also that the strengths and charms of our dining clients will be more widely recognized through the fresh ideas of university students,” and added, “We will continue to develop business solutions that support business success beyond food ingredient supply by cooperating as mutual partners with dining clients.”
