KOTRA Partners with 15 Domestic Foreign Chambers of Commerce for Educational Cooperation

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] KOTRA announced on the 9th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding for educational cooperation with 15 foreign chambers of commerce in Korea, including the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea (AMCHAM), and agreed to collaborate on operating specialized courses for foreign expatriates working at foreign companies and institutions in Korea.


The specialized course for expatriates, to be implemented from the first quarter of next year, targets foreign middle and senior managers of foreign companies in Korea, as well as foreign economic and commercial attach?s from foreign embassies and international organizations in Korea. The lecture topics will cover the latest economic and industrial issues in Korea that help foreign expatriates with management and risk prevention during their domestic assignments. KOTRA and the foreign chambers of commerce will jointly select the topics and invite prominent domestic lecturers to conduct monthly sessions.


Park Han-jin, Director of the KOTRA Academy, said, "Since August, through meetings with foreign chambers of commerce in Korea, we realized that foreign expatriates residing in Korea have a strong thirst for the latest economic and industrial information about Korea." He added, "Through this educational program, we expect to strengthen networks with foreign companies and institutions, increase investment in Korea, and expand a friendly personnel base."
