On the 9th at 11:30 a.m., Ulsan City and the Ulsan Branch of the Korea Pork Producers Association will hold a "Domestic Pork Consumption Promotion Tasting Event" at the Ulsan City Hall cafeteria.

Ulsan City explained that the pork consumption promotion event was organized to promote local pork and revitalize the local economy, which has been weakened by COVID-19.

About 800 city hall employees and Yoo Jae-hwan, head of the Ulsan Branch of the Pork Producers Association, will enjoy 200 kg of boiled pork as lunch.

Head Yoo said, "We will continue the consumption promotion campaign to publicize the safety and excellence of Korean pork," adding, "We hope people will show more affection and interest in domestically produced pork."

Currently, 23 farms in Ulsan raise 37,595 pigs.

Ulsan City supports these farms with 274 million KRW for three projects, including livestock manure treatment support projects, to stabilize their management. They also operate a livestock quarantine situation room and key disinfection facilities to completely block the entry of African Swine Fever (ASF).
