According to Sancheong-gun on the 8th, as of the end of November, the total amount of local love gift certificates, including mobile and paper types, is about 11.1 billion KRW.
Considering that the sales amount was 8.5 billion KRW as of the end of September, an additional 2.6 billion KRW worth was sold in just two months. At this pace, it is expected that the planned issuance amount of 12 billion KRW for this year will be smoothly achieved.
The reason for the high popularity of the Sancheong Sarang Gift Certificate is that Sancheong-gun has continuously provided a 10% discount benefit by investing 1.5 billion KRW in project expenses, including 820 million KRW of national funds this year.
In addition, the expansion of gift certificate sales agencies, prize events, and continuous promotion of merchant registration are analyzed to have had a synergistic effect.
From next year, the number of gift certificate sales and exchange points will also be expanded. Currently, it is only possible at 19 branches of local agricultural and livestock cooperatives, but from January next year, sales and exchanges will be possible at Gyeongnam Bank and Saemaeul Geumgo as well.
For paper gift certificates, sales will be temporarily suspended from the 13th due to a system overhaul to expand the handling locations.
A Sancheong-gun official said, “In June this year, the issuance scale of gift certificates was expanded from the existing 5 billion KRW to 12 billion KRW,” adding, “The local love gift certificate is greatly contributing not only to revitalizing the local small business market but also to the virtuous cycle of local capital.”
