[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in instructed the government to mobilize all available resources and focus all efforts on stabilizing quarantine measures in response to the increase in COVID-19 confirmed cases.


Park Kyung-mi, the Blue House spokesperson, stated in a written briefing on the 8th, "President Moon Jae-in emphasized that it is more important than anything else to thoroughly implement special quarantine measures amid the very serious COVID-19 situation, and he asked the government to mobilize all available resources to focus all efforts on stabilizing the quarantine situation."


In particular, President Moon requested the public's cooperation, including active vaccination such as the third dose and strict compliance with quarantine rules.

Meanwhile, President Moon ordered safety measures regarding cases of elderly people dying in traffic accidents while walking.


Spokesperson Park conveyed, "Regarding the increasing proportion of elderly deaths in traffic accidents while walking, President Moon said to consider effective comprehensive measures to strengthen traffic safety for seniors, such as expanding the installation of unmanned enforcement equipment in elderly protection zones (Silver Zones) and expanding safety facilities for vulnerable road users."


President Moon also instructed a review of the issue of online delivery platform commission fee increases.


Spokesperson Park said, "Regarding the recent increase in online delivery platform commission fees, President Moon said to accurately grasp the current status of delivery fees to ensure that there is no excessive burden on small-scale vendors and that the benefits of the increase also reach delivery workers."
