[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 8th that it completed the construction of the Bogil-myeon office and the community sports park and held a completion ceremony on the 2nd attended by about 80 local residents.

The old Bogil-myeon office building was constructed in 1986 and, after 35 years, was deemed to require reconstruction with a D grade in a safety inspection conducted in 2018.

Accordingly, a new office construction plan was established in 2019, and construction began in June last year.

The new office was built in a Hanok-style on the current Bogil-myeon office site with a total area of 822㎡ and two floors above ground, with a project cost of 4 billion KRW. The first floor includes offices, a civil service room, a communication room, and a break room, while the second floor houses a multipurpose room, the myeon chief's office, and a document storage room.

Bogil-myeon Chief Ahn Byungseong said, “We will work harder to provide the best administrative services to the residents with a renewed mindset in the new office.”

The community sports park was established on a 17,012㎡ site in Buhwang-ri with a project cost of 4 billion KRW after the plan was finalized in 2016. It includes a sports field, an all-weather gateball court, a basketball court, a multipurpose court, and children's playground facilities.

County Governor Shin Woochul said, “I am pleased that the community sports park has been created to promote residents' health and improve sports welfare,” adding, “We will do our best to successfully host the 2023 Jeollanam-do Provincial Sports Festival and the 2024 Community Sports Grand Festival based on the expansion of various sports facilities to contribute to revitalizing the local economy.”
