Hyundai Engineering announced on the 8th that it held the ‘2021 Love Sharing Fund Donation Ceremony’ on the 7th and donated 92.82 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea.
At the ceremony, Hyundai Engineering’s Head of Communications Office, Eom Hong-seok, and Kim Kyung-hee, Head of Social Contribution Division at the Community Chest of Korea, along with other officials, attended to deliver the donation funds raised by Hyundai Engineering employees.
The ‘Love Sharing Fund’ is a fundraising activity initiated by Hyundai Engineering in 2018 to promote a culture of sharing throughout the company. Hyundai Engineering employees voluntarily participate in the fundraising by contributing from a minimum of 3,000 KRW to a maximum of 30,000 KRW per month. This year, 955 employees from executives to manager-level staff participated, resulting in a donation of 92.82 million KRW. Notably, the number of participants and the amount raised nearly doubled compared to 2018, when about 500 employees raised 49 million KRW.
The ‘Love Sharing Fund’ raised by Hyundai Engineering employees is used in various fields such as creating jobs for people with severe disabilities and repairing and improving educational facilities in developing countries.
A Hyundai Engineering representative said, "Although we are going through a difficult time due to COVID-19, it is meaningful that our employees’ culture of sharing has resulted in nearly 100 million KRW in donations," adding, "The raised funds will be used in various areas including improving living and educational environments for disadvantaged neighbors both domestically and overseas."
