[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] On the 7th, Cho Eung-cheon, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the People Power Party's election committee formation, saying, "It does not look like a contest between Lee Jae-myung and Yoon Seok-youl, but rather a contest between Lee Jae-myung and Kim Jong-in."

Cho, co-head of the Democratic Party's election committee joint situation room, said on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strong Current Affairs' that "Yoon Seok-youl is not visible. It's a no look. I can't see candidate Yoon; he seems to be hiding behind Lee Jun-seok and Kim Jong-in."

Regarding Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, recently describing the Moon Jae-in administration as a "corrupt and incompetent regime" at the election committee launch ceremony, Cho pointed out, "Honestly, didn't he receive appointment letters as Seoul Central District Prosecutor and Prosecutor General from that administration? It's like spitting into the well."

In response to the host's comment that "If criticism of the Moon Jae-in administration is too harsh, presidential supporters will dislike it, but if there is no criticism, it will fail to expand to the moderate voters," Cho said, "This is a very troubling point. To be honest, the president's approval rating for state affairs is exceptionally high," adding, "The early 40s and late 30s age groups are extremely burdensome."

He especially mentioned the 'Cho Kuk incident,' saying, "Candidate Lee Jae-myung is reflecting on the Cho Kuk incident every day now," and added, "I said a while ago that we need to cross this (Cho Kuk's river). I think this is the decisive factor that traps us in double standards and vested interests."

Cho explained, "He is also continuously discussing real estate policies. He is seriously reflecting on and proposing measures for small and medium-sized business owners and COVID-19, issues that the public is truly struggling with and suffering from."

Furthermore, he said, "Gradually, Lee Jae-myung will reveal his colors regarding the parts that the public is really struggling with," but also stated, "(Since the government is) the ruling party, we must acknowledge what has been done well, and we cannot say that we did not do well because we were conscious of votes."
