The 2022 annual session of the city council consists of two regular sessions totaling 50 days and seven extraordinary sessions totaling 50 days, with the schedule set considering the 20th presidential election and the 8th nationwide local elections to be held in the first half of the year.
The chairpersons noted that due to the prolonged impact of COVID-19, support for welfare facilities has decreased, making it difficult for them to get through the winter, and decided to visit welfare facilities at the end of the year to deliver warmth. On the 13th, appreciation plaques will be presented to retired public officials who contributed to the development of Changwon.
On the 17th and 20th, in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of local councils, merit plaques will be awarded to council members who contributed to the development of legislative activities, and council staff who have worked hard to support legislative activities will also be commended.
Furthermore, the chairpersons shared information about the independent personnel authority agreement signed with the city, checked the inauguration ceremony of the special city council, the establishment of new departments, and changes in names, and ordered thorough preparations to ensure the smooth operation of the city council by January 13 next year.
Chairperson Lee Chi-woo said, "During the regular session, we will do our best to review the next year's main budget and the 3rd supplementary budget of 2021 so that they can be used appropriately for stabilizing people's livelihoods and other necessary areas."
