Gyeongsan City Selected as ‘Best Institution’ in Gyeongbuk Province Small and Medium Business Promotion Policy Evaluation

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk Province, was selected as the best institution in the 2021 Gyeongsangbuk-do Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Promotion Policy City/County Evaluation held on the 3rd.

The Gyeongsangbuk-do SME Promotion Policy City/County Evaluation is conducted to share support cases for companies amid the economic crisis, create a business-friendly environment, and strengthen the capabilities of SME support departments.

The evaluation comprehensively assesses 16 items across five areas: establishment and implementation of SME promotion policies, SME financial support, public procurement of SME products, policy participation, and resolution of SME difficulties.

The city was evaluated for implementing SME management fund operations, social economy enterprise innovation growth package support, startup incubation center support, and SME youth job support projects.

Efforts for SMEs were also recognized, including the creation of a knowledge industry district, construction of the Gyeongsan Industrial Complex Multipurpose Cultural Center, sale of land for logistics support facilities, designation as a happy company, and startup support linked with multiple local universities.

Mayor Choi Young-jo said, “I am very pleased that our efforts to promote various SME policies have been recognized,” adding, “We will actively strive to discover and implement policies suited to the region, resolve difficulties faced by companies, and revitalize the local economy.”
