[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Saemaeul Movement Branch of Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam, held the '2021 3R Recyclable Materials Collection Competition' on the 7th at Sinsayang Sports Park.
This event is a campaign to prevent environmental pollution through the collection of 3R recyclable resources: Reuse, Recycle, and Reduce, to achieve carbon neutrality, and to help neighbors in need with the proceeds from sales.
On this day, a total of about 50 tons of recyclable materials were collected from 17 towns and townships. The proceeds from the sale of waste resources will be used for neighborly love practice campaigns such as caring for elderly living alone, promoted by the Saemaeul Associations in each town and township in the future.
Branch President Park Jin-sik said, "I am glad to be able to reduce waste through resource recycling and promote the spirit of diligence and frugality, and to help neighbors in need in the district with old clothes and scrap metal," and added, "I sincerely thank all the Saemaeul members who participated despite the cold weather."
