Hyundai Motor Group Develops Integration of TVING OTT Content into Connected Car Infotainment Platform
CJ ENM Provides Content - TVING Supplies UX Tailored for Vehicle Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Motor Group is collaborating with CJ ENM and others to provide online video service (OTT) content within vehicles.
On the 7th, Hyundai Motor Group announced that on the 6th, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation on vehicle OTT content service partnership with CJ ENM and TVING at the CJ ENM Center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Key officials attending the signing ceremony included Choo Kyo-woong, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group, Lim Sang-yeop, Chief of Management Support at CJ ENM, and Lee Myung-han, Co-CEO of TVING.
According to the agreement among the three companies, they will mutually cooperate in various areas including ▲building platforms for OTT service installation ▲providing OTT content services ▲platform and content operation management ▲promotion, joint marketing and promotions ▲consultation on providing new content services, and will work to create an ecosystem to offer differentiated OTT content exclusive to Hyundai Motor Group’s connected cars.
First, Hyundai Motor Group will cooperate in developing to install TVING’s OTT content on the infotainment platform of connected cars and support platform service operation and maintenance. CJ ENM will produce and supply OTT content while continuously discovering new content and services, and TVING will provide a user experience (UX) tailored to the automotive environment so that TVING streaming services can be enjoyed in Hyundai Motor Group’s connected cars.
Choo Kyo-woong, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group, said, "Through this business agreement, we expect Hyundai Motor Group’s connected cars to not only provide customers with diverse OTT content but also offer a richer and new infotainment user experience. We will continue to build a cooperative relationship with CJ ENM and TVING to enhance the competitiveness of Hyundai Motor Group’s connected cars and maintain a leading role in customer-oriented future content fields."
Lim Sang-yeop, Chief of Management Support at CJ ENM, said, "With the advent of the full-scale autonomous driving era, vehicles will become moving media platforms rather than just transportation means, increasing the importance of entertainment content. We will continuously collaborate with Hyundai Motor Group to provide content that allows customers to enjoy differentiated connected car services."
