[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Miryang City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 6th that the 3 billion KRW budget for the artificial climbing wall construction project, promoted to revitalize the National Miryang Mountaineering School, which was confirmed to be hosted last March, has been reflected in the 2022 government budget proposal.

The artificial climbing wall is a project under the Korea Forest Service, and it is a project that can create a synergy effect for the activation and mountaineering education of the National Miryang Mountaineering School, promoted by the Southern Regional Forest Service.

As a result of continuous consultations with the Korea Forest Service since last June, 1.5 billion KRW out of the total project cost of 3 billion KRW was first reflected in next year's government budget.

The artificial climbing wall will be constructed in various forms so that not only sports climbing competitions can be held but also elementary, middle, and high school students and the general public can use it.

Mayor Park Il-ho said, "I am grateful to the Korea Forest Service for enabling the construction of the artificial climbing wall along with the National Mountaineering School," and added, "I hope Miryang becomes a mecca of forest welfare that provides various mountaineering education to the public by utilizing the excellent forest resources of the Yeongnam Alps."
