[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 50s who murdered a woman in her 50s, whom he knew personally, and abandoned her body in a car trunk has been arrested by the police. It was also investigated that this man killed an accomplice who helped him commit the crime and disposed of the body.
According to the police on the 6th, the Michuhol Police Station in Incheon has arrested and is investigating a man in his 50s, Mr. A, on charges of robbery-murder and corpse abandonment.
Mr. A is suspected of killing a woman in her 50s, Ms. B, at a building in Michuhol-gu on the morning of the 4th of this month and stealing several million won in valuables.
Ms. B’s husband last saw his wife at their home in Namdong-gu, Incheon, around 6:30 a.m. on the 3rd, and their daughter reported her missing to the police at 7:09 p.m. the following day.
The police, who identified Mr. A as the prime suspect, arrested him around 6:30 p.m. the previous day. After obtaining a confession from Mr. A, the police found Ms. B’s body in the trunk of her car in an above-ground parking lot near Inha University Station on the Suin-Bundang Line in Michuhol-gu one hour later.
Additionally, during a pre-interrogation interview on the morning of the same day, the police secured a statement from Mr. A saying, "I also killed the accomplice and abandoned him in Eulwang-ri," and found the body of a man in his 40s, Mr. C, in a nearby mountain in Jung-gu, Incheon, near Eulwang-ri.
Mr. A was acquainted with Ms. B, and the police are verifying the exact nature of their relationship. Furthermore, Mr. C did not directly kill Ms. B but was investigated to have helped Mr. A dispose of her body.
The police are also investigating why Mr. A killed Mr. C, who was an accomplice that helped with the crime, after determining that Mr. C died on the morning of the 5th.
Moreover, the police have requested autopsies of Ms. B and Mr. C’s bodies from the National Forensic Service and plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A after further investigating the exact motive behind the crime.
