In October, Jinju City formed a working committee including domestic art experts such as Jeong Jun-mo, Curator of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. On this day, the city established the promotion committee for the planned exhibition "The Flow of Korean Color Painting," consisting of about 50 members, including 17 members of the Seoul Jinju Hometown Association.
At the meeting, Son Byung-doo, Chairman of the Hoam Foundation, was elected as the chairman of the promotion committee, with Jeong Kyung-doo, former Minister of National Defense, and Kwon Soon-ki, President of Gyeongsang National University, elected as vice-chairmen.
The exhibition "The Flow of Korean Color Painting," promoted by Jinju City, is planned as an event introducing the flow of Korean color painting from Goguryeo tomb murals to the Joseon Dynasty and modern times.
Son Byung-doo, chairman of the promotion committee and chairman of the Hoam Foundation, emphasized, "Since a large-scale exhibition where famous color painters can gather in my hometown Jinju is being promoted, I will do my best to ensure its successful opening."
He added, "Through a large-scale planned exhibition at the local art museum, we will expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for Jinju citizens and use it as a stepping stone to attract national cultural facilities."
Mayor Jo Gyu-il said, "I ask for your cooperation so that this exhibition can serve as an opportunity to realize cultural decentralization and expand cultural enjoyment rights in the southern region," and added, "Please actively cooperate in attracting national cultural facilities to Jinju City."
