[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Han Sangwon) announced on the 6th that Cha Byungho, CEO of Deulkkotbang, recently donated over 400 flowerpots to children in childcare facilities in Gwangju.
The flowerpots delivered to the Gwangju Child Welfare Association will be gifted to children at 12 childcare facilities in the Gwangju area so that they can cultivate their own flowerpots with a love for plants.
CEO Cha has been actively volunteering for over 10 years through his activities with the Mudeung Rotary Club, building relationships with Sinhaewon, Aeyukwon, and Naju Geumseongwon, and donating musical instruments.
This flowerpot donation was initiated after he made a hole-in-one at the Noblesse 4th President's Cup Golf Tournament on the 15th of last month. He wanted to change the culture of planting trees at golf courses to commemorate hole-in-ones and thought it would be meaningful to make a donation instead.
CEO Cha said, “I hope the flowers carrying the luck of the hole-in-one bring joy to the children, and I wish that the culture of sharing spreads even more during these difficult times due to COVID-19.”
Lee Seongdo, Secretary General of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea, said, “We sincerely thank you for practicing the commemorative celebration culture of hole-in-ones as warm sharing with neighbors in need.”
