[Asia Economy Reporter Gong Byung-sun] Domestic cryptocurrency exchange Korbit announced on the 6th that it has launched the industry's first educational voice phishing prevention application (app) ‘Phishing Prevention 24’.

Korbit explained that it empathized with the need for proactive prevention against increasing phishing scams and created the ‘Phishing Prevention 24’ task force (TF) team to materialize this. The app can be used for free by anyone without signing up, to inform phishing prevention methods more easily and familiarly.

Phishing Prevention 24 is mainly composed of webtoons, quizzes, and a learning tab. In the webtoon, consisting of a total of 5 episodes, characters Coco and Rabit explain phishing prevention methods. Webtoon artist Ian participated in the webtoon artwork and story composition. Each episode can be shared externally via the share button.

The quiz, consisting of a total of 10 questions, explains phishing, smishing, pharming scams, and more. Upon completing all quizzes, users can receive a ‘Phishing Prevention Education Completion’ certificate, which can be shared on social networking services (SNS). The learning tab includes various advanced learning contents such as phishing self-diagnosis.

Ji Seung-wook, head of Korbit's Product Innovation Department, said, “We hope that Phishing Prevention 24 will help inform the public about phishing prevention methods and solve the social issue of voice phishing,” adding, “We will not only prevent phishing using cryptocurrency but also take the lead in strengthening industry security and enhancing reliability through various learning contents.”
