Chosun University Athletes Park Hye-jin, Lee Ki-beom, and Lim Hong-seop Finalized for Taekwondo National Team Selection

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Chosun University Taekwondo team announced on the 6th that athletes Park Hye-jin, Lee Ki-beom, and Lim Hong-seop secured the Taeguk mark at the final national team selection competition.

From the 12th, over three days at the Goun Gymnasium in Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, at the 2021 Taekwondo National Team Selection Final, Park Hye-jin took first place in the women's -53kg category.

In the men's division, Lee Ki-beom placed second in the -63kg category, and Lim Hong-seop placed second in the +87kg category, with all three athletes selected for the national team.

Park Hye-jin delivered a flawless and confident performance against Lee Ye-rin from Korea National Sport University, Han So-jung from Seoul Gwanak High School, and Ha Min-ah from Samsung S1, securing the national team first squad with an undefeated final record.

Additionally, Lee Ki-beom recorded a final record of 2 wins and 1 loss, and Lim Hong-seop recorded 4 wins and 1 loss, each earning a spot on the national team second squad.

Coach Kim Byung-gi said, "It is meaningful to achieve the result of national team selection through the students' effort and passion," and added, "We will continue to work together to participate in various competitions."

Meanwhile, the athletes selected for the national team will participate in an evaluation match on December 23 and are scheduled to compete in this year's World Championships, Asian Games, and Asian Championships.
