Incheon TP Holds 'Video Export Consultation Meeting' to Support Export Channels for SMEs

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The 'video export consultation meeting' is playing a vital role in opening new overseas market channels for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) announced on the 4th that, together with Incheon City, it has been supporting online video export consultation meetings to assist SMEs in entering overseas markets since April last year.

This year, Incheon TP has arranged over 2,100 online consultations connecting buyers from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Central America with companies in the Incheon area, yielding fruitful results.

Company A, which manufactures heavy equipment parts, signed a contract worth $28,900 with a Dubai buyer just one month after the consultation in October and is currently coordinating the final delivery schedule.

Company S, which produces dustproof and soundproof equipment, sealed a $5,000 export contract with a Mexican buyer connected through the Central America video export consultation meeting held in June.

Moreover, many companies continue to hold consultations with overseas buyers for export contracts, indicating that the achievements of the online video export consultation meetings are expected to increase further.

Having supported 1,357 video export consultations with buyers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and others last year, Incheon TP plans to organize overseas market development teams to visit local sites next year, depending on the COVID-19 situation.

An Incheon TP official stated, "We are supporting companies' overseas expansion in various ways to overcome the limitations of online consultations, such as multi-channel consultations where consultations and factory tours occur simultaneously, and operating consultation venues where product demonstrations are possible in the counterpart country."
