Former Administrative Officer at the Office of the Chief Presidential Secretary for Policy, National Situation Room, and Senior Secretary for Social Affairs at Cheong Wa Dae
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] Shin Hye-hyun, who served as a secretary to President Moon Jae-in during his time as a member of the National Assembly, has been appointed as the new deputy spokesperson of the Blue House.
Park Kyung-mi, spokesperson for the Blue House, stated in a briefing at the Press Center on the 3rd, "Deputy Spokesperson Shin Hye-hyun has worked extensively in the Blue House's Office of National Affairs and the Social Affairs Secretariat, demonstrating a deep understanding of the Moon Jae-in administration's philosophy and policy issues.
Spokesperson Park expressed hope that she will actively reflect public opinion on various policy issues.
Deputy Spokesperson Shin was born in 1982 and graduated from Daewon Foreign Language High School in Seoul and Korea University with a degree in Political Science and International Relations. She served as a secretary in the office of Assemblyman Moon Jae-in during the 19th National Assembly when Moon was a member of the National Assembly. In the Moon Jae-in administration's Blue House, she held positions including administrative officer in the Policy Office, the Office of National Affairs, and the Social Affairs Secretariat.
Deputy Spokesperson Shin said, "I have been appointed deputy spokesperson at a time when vigilance and unity are needed for the complete restoration of daily life and economic recovery for the people. Both my heart and shoulders feel heavy." She added, "President Moon Jae-in called our government a crisis-overcoming government. The Moon administration will continue to strive for inclusive restoration of daily life until the very end."
She also stated, "I will not neglect conveying the voices of the people. I will communicate to deliver the words of President Moon Jae-in and First Lady Kim Jung-sook, along with the context and sincerity embedded in their words."
