Non-face-to-face Donation to Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] BC Card supports the stable independence of young adults aged 18 and over who have aged out of protective care.
BC Card announced on the 2nd that it donated 289.05 million KRW to the Seoul Community Chest of Korea to support the independence of young adults who have aged out of protective care. On the same day, the donation ceremony was held at the Sarangui Yeolmae Hall in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by key figures including CEO Choi Won-seok, Chairman Yoon Young-seok of the Seoul Community Chest of Korea, and Lee Ho-young, CEO of the social cooperative Sipsiilbang.
The donated funds will be used through the social cooperative Sipsiilbang to carry out projects supporting the independence of young adults who have aged out of protective care. From January next year, BC Card and Sipsiilbang plan to support the housing and housing costs of about 10 young adults in the Seoul area for one year, and operate various education and experience programs to assist economic independence such as career development and employment.
Through this donation, BC Card became the first donor in the Seoul area for the 'Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign' conducted by the Community Chest of Korea.
Choi Won-seok, CEO of BC Card, said, "We prepared this sharing to help young people who must stand on their own at the age of 18 achieve stable independence," adding, "We hope this will be of some help in raising awareness about young adults who have aged out of protective care throughout society."
