The 20,000 hand sanitizers donated that day will be distributed to low-income families in the area.


[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) received a donation of 'COVID-19 Overcome' supplies from The Dream H&B (CEO Yoo Min-sang) at the mayor's office on the morning of the 2nd.


The 20,000 hand sanitizers received that day will be distributed to low-income households such as elderly living alone and basic livelihood security recipients in the area.


Mayor Noh Hyun-song said, "As the weather gets colder and COVID-19 cases surge, many places need help," adding, "We deeply thank the donors who extended their hands of sharing, and the donated items will be properly delivered to neighbors in need."


The Dream H&B, a cosmetics distribution company, also donated 'COVID-19 Overcome' supplies for low-income residents last year. The total value of donations to date amounts to 26 million KRW.

Gangnam-gu (Mayor Jung Soon-gyun) held a 'Sharing Love Kimchi Making' delivery ceremony in front of the Gangnam-gu Office main building on the 2nd.


The event was attended by Mayor Jung Soon-gyun, Welfare and Life Bureau Director Lee Ho-hyun, Welfare Policy Division Chief Jang Jeong-eun, Gangnam Welfare Foundation Chairman Lee Ui-shin, and Gangnam Welfare Foundation Executive Director Kim Yong-ju.


This year, Gangnam-gu supported 7,877 households with kimchi worth 433.24 million KRW through a public-private joint effort, and at this delivery ceremony, 10kg of kimchi will be distributed to 1,200 low-income vulnerable households.

Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok attended the ICP Logitem '2022 Warm Winter Fund Donation Ceremony' held at the mayor's office at 1 p.m. on the 2nd.


The fund donation ceremony was arranged as ICP Logitem expressed their intention to donate 10 million KRW hoping to help low-income groups in the area.


The district plans to accumulate the funds as the 2022 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Fund and use them as emergency support funds for low-income groups in the area.


The ceremony proceeded with fund delivery and commemorative photo sessions attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok and ICP Logitem CEO Choi Dong-hyun.


Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "Thank you for donating funds to help neighbors in need," adding, "We will make sure the warm hearts are used in valuable places to deliver warmth."

Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) held the 'Open the Window & Neighbor Invitation Event' on the 4th floor of Yonggang Senior Welfare Center at 3 p.m. on the 2nd.


Hosted by Yonggang Senior Welfare Center (Director Kim Seong-ho) and sponsored by Hanwha Claims Service, the event started with a pre-performance by the Yonggang Silver Orchestra, followed by performances by the Silver Orchestra, singer Jeon Hyang-jin, and Seodo Band.


After the performances, a sharing event was held to deliver kimchi and retort pouch foods to 34 elderly participants who completed vaccination, spreading the warmth of sharing at the year-end.


Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun of Mapo-gu said, "I sincerely congratulate the 'Open the Window' event, now in its 6th year," adding, "I hope the event opens the hearts that were tightly closed due to COVID-19 and that neighbors share their hearts to have a happy and precious time."

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) held a resident briefing session for the 'Doksan 13 Complex Elderly Welfare Housing (Welfare Facility & Shared Home Complex Construction)' project at the Hannae Senior Welfare Center at 4:30 p.m. on the 1st.


Geumcheon-gu explained the progress and design details of the project and took time to listen to the opinions of residents, the actual users, for the future.


The elderly welfare housing (welfare facility & shared home) will be constructed in Doksan 13 Complex, Geumcheon-gu, with a total floor area of 2,430㎡ from basement level 1 to 7 floors above ground, starting construction in February 2022 and scheduled for completion in 2023.


The first floor above ground will house the Doksan 1-dong Resident Center Civil Service Branch, the 2nd and 3rd floors will be a health clinic, the 4th and 5th floors a daycare center, and the 6th and 7th floors will be demand-tailored public rental housing.


Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon said, "Once this project is completed, elderly, disabled, and other vulnerable residents will be able to conveniently use the resident center and receive public medical and welfare services in a one-stop manner, improving their quality of life," adding, "We will carefully review and reflect the residents' opinions from this briefing session to provide the best service."

Yeongdeungpo-gu Mayor Chae Hyun-il attended the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at Singil Church on the afternoon of the 1st.


The lighting ceremony was attended by National Assembly members Kim Young-joo and Kim Min-seok, Yeongdeungpo-gu Council Chairman Ko Gi-pan, council members, and church officials, who lit the tree together.


The Christmas tree is installed at Singil Station Plaza and will offer a beautiful night view to local residents and visitors.


Mayor Chae Hyun-il said, "I hope the light of the tree lit today becomes a light of comfort and hope to many residents."
