Hampyeong-gun Captivates with 'Electronic Album' as a Gift for a Nostalgic Journey

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County is attracting attention by gifting unforgettable memory trips through electronic albums to low-income elderly living alone in the area.

On the 2nd, the county selected 60 elderly individuals eligible for the customized elderly care service and promoted a project to support electronic albums containing photos of their families and relatives.

This project was prepared to support the psychological quarantine of elderly people experiencing depression by providing electronic albums with family photos to elderly individuals who found it difficult to interact with family members living in other regions due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

In particular, the electronic albums are easy to install and use, so even elderly people who are not familiar with smartphones are expected to be able to view photos and videos of their beloved family members, such as grandchildren, anytime.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “I hope this project helps alleviate the depression of elderly people living alone,” and added, “Next year, we will expand the number of beneficiaries to help more elderly people regain peace of mind.”
