[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Nosik] Shim Min, the governor of Imsil County, Jeonbuk, is making every effort to secure next year's national budget for major pending projects.
According to the county on the 2nd, Governor Shim met with Lee Yong-wook, head of the Iksan Regional Land Management Office, the day before, actively proposing the securing of the national budget for key county administration projects for the next year and major pending issues, pursuing budget acquisition efforts.
On this day, Governor Shim fully explained the justification and necessity of projects for a smooth road environment to Director Lee and requested active support to ensure inclusion in the government budget proposal.
During the meeting, Governor Shim requested the prioritization of confirmed projects and the approval of new projects including ▲National Road 30 Cheongung~Imsil two-lane improvement project (41.2 billion KRW) ▲National Road 17 Gwanchon Samgeori intersection improvement project (10 billion KRW) ▲National Road 17 Osu intersection bottleneck point improvement project (2 billion KRW) ▲National Road 17 Naedong intersection improvement project (1.4 billion KRW) ▲National Road 17 Gwanchon district dangerous road construction project (13 billion KRW).
He also proposed the installation project of a pedestrian bridge linked to the Cheese Theme Park, Imsil Cheese Theme Park (5.6 billion KRW).
The national road improvement and enhancement projects are urgently needed as these areas have irregular alignments and deformed road shapes, resulting in high traffic accident rates.
If these projects are selected, the expansion of roads and improvement of bottleneck sections are expected to greatly relieve the concerns of Imsil County residents who have been living with anxiety.
Through this meeting, the county learned that the budget for the ongoing Unjong Intersection improvement project is being considered for an increase from the original 15 billion KRW to 38 billion KRW, and received positive responses regarding the proposed projects.
The county is making all-out efforts to respond at each stage by frequently visiting central government departments, related agencies, and the National Assembly to secure the national budget.
Additionally, for projects with negative or lukewarm responses from ministries, the county plans to establish special measures and respond thoroughly.
The county is also fully committed to responding at the National Assembly stage to secure project funds for next year, including ▲detailed design for the creation of Okjeongho ecological trail (200 million KRW), ▲increase in national funds for Okjeongho Water Culture Trail (875 million KRW), and ▲detailed design for non-point pollution reduction at Unam artificial wetland (300 million KRW).
Governor Shim Min said, “All departments will focus on activities to secure the national budget for the government budget formulation. We will closely monitor ministry responses, devise countermeasures, and meticulously manage the process through the National Assembly stage to successfully conclude the 7th elected term and strive to realize the Seomjingang Renaissance era ahead of schedule.”
