[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Ilro-eup, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, held a non-face-to-face proclamation ceremony on December 1st to commemorate the establishment of Ilro-eup Residents' Day, hosted by the Ilro-eup Prosperity Association (President Kim Chan-il).


According to the county on the 2nd, Ilro-eup held a regular meeting of the Institutional and Social Organizations Council on the 16th of last month and designated December 1st as Ilro-eup Residents' Day to mark the 41st anniversary of its elevation to eup status.


This Residents' Day proclamation ceremony was conducted non-face-to-face using the newly introduced smart village broadcasting system by Muan-gun to prevent the spread of COVID-19.


The commemorative speech and the Residents' Charter were proclaimed through village broadcasting to all residents of Ilro-eup, and the event concluded with the lighting of the ‘Ilro-eup Harmony Tree’ attended by a minimal number of people, including the Ilro-eup head and the Prosperity Association president.


In his commemorative speech, Kim Chan-il, president of the Ilro-eup Prosperity Association, said, “December 1st, Ilro-eup Residents' Day, is an important anniversary that drives comprehensive momentum for resident harmony and regional development,” adding, “We look forward to the infinite development of Ilro-eup, a region suitable for the rustic life era that dreams of Odoichon, enjoying the charm and nature of the countryside while not disconnecting from urban life.”


Meanwhile, Ilro-eup Residents' Day will be promoted annually on December 1st, and the ‘Residents' Day’ event hosted by Muan-gun will be operated as the Ilro-eup Residents' Unity Festival.
