Ben Knight and Alastair Lee's Works Presented in the Finals
The 7th Ulju World Mountain Film Festival is scheduled to be held from April 1 to 10 next year at the Yeongnam Alps Complex Welcome Center in Ulju-gun.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] A total of 781 films from 77 countries were submitted to the competitive section of the 7th Ulju World Mountain Film Festival in 2022.
The submissions, received from September 24 to October 1, increased by 63% compared to the 463 films from 64 countries at the 6th festival, marking the highest number of entries ever.
With 288 domestic and 493 international films, the works will go through preliminary screening and be presented as finalists in the competitive section of the 7th festival.
The submissions include new works from previous international competition winners, as well as new films by renowned mountain filmmakers and directors introduced at the Ulju World Mountain Film Festival, such as director Ben Knight of "The Last Honey Hunter" and "Denali," and Alastair Lee, who directed "Jesse Dufton's Challenge" and "Everything About Bouldering."
The 7th Ulju World Mountain Film Festival will be held from April 1 to 10 next year at the Yeongnam Alps Complex Welcome Center in Ulju-gun, Gyeongbuk, showcasing over 130 films worldwide focusing on mountains, nature, and the environment, along with experiential events, including the competitive section finalists.
Programmer Lee Jeongjin said, "Production, which had slowed due to COVID-19, is gradually revitalizing, and as the festival steadily gains popularity, the submissions have become more diverse. It is noteworthy that the number of domestic submissions increased by 288 compared to the 6th festival."
