Professor Song Haegun of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology Receives 'Commendation from the President of the National Institute of Technology and Standards'

Professor Song Hae-geun of the Department of Business Administration and Accounting at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology, who received the 'Commendation from the Director of the National Institute of Technology and Standards' at the Product Safety Day commemorative event, is posing for a commemorative photo.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Professor Song Hae-geun of the Department of Business Administration and Accounting at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology received the ‘Director of the National Institute of Technology and Standards Commendation’ at the ‘2021 Product Safety Day’ commemorative event.

The ‘2021 Product Safety Day’ is the largest domestic event in the field of product safety. The event was hosted by the National Institute of Technology and Standards and organized by the Korea Product Safety Management Institute.

At the event, awards were given to individuals and organizations who contributed to public safety through the development of product safety technologies.

Professor Song received the Director’s Award from the National Institute of Technology and Standards for his contributions to the development of the Korean-style product risk assessment model and the Korean-style hazard evaluation model.

In 2013, Professor Song carried out the government project ‘Development of a Priority Selection Technique Model for Safety Investigation Target Products.’ He also published three academic papers related to product safety, including ‘Utilization of Standards for Product Safety Conformity Assessment,’ and three papers related to hazard evaluation.

Due to these research achievements, Professor Song received the Best Paper Award at the ‘2017 Korean Product Safety Society Summer Conference.’

Professor Song stated, “I will continue to devote myself to research activities so that companies manufacture and distribute products that prioritize consumer safety above all.”

Since 2016, Professor Song Hae-geun has been serving at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology. He has also served as a professor committee member at the Korea Quality Foundation, adjunct professor at Sungkyunkwan University, and invited lecturer at Dongguk University.

Currently, Professor Song is the support team leader of the Industry-Academia Cooperation Council at the university’s LINC+ Project Group, a director at the Small and Medium Business Technology Information Promotion Agency, and a reviewer for the Korea Service Quality Excellent Company Certification at the Korea Service Promotion Association.
