[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The Road Traffic Authority TBN Korea Transportation Broadcasting signed a business agreement with the Korea Community Radio Broadcasting Association on the 1st to "realize social value through disaster and regional content collaboration."
Through this agreement, the two organizations will closely collaborate to protect the safety and lives of the public by enhancing real-time disaster broadcast production content in preparation for disasters such as climate anomalies and traffic accidents.
In addition, they plan to produce customized broadcast content centered on 12 regions nationwide where the broadcasting stations are located, and conduct "risk prediction broadcasts" by analyzing real-time regional traffic information received as big data.
TBN will also jointly plan programs with community radios nationwide that include local environmental issues and hyperlocal content to create a sustainable society.
Lee Woo-ho, head of the Road Traffic Authority TBN Korea Transportation Broadcasting, said, "Recently, our society's demand for safety has increased more than ever," adding, "By combining the regional strengths of community radio with TBN's expertise, we will play a significant role as the nation's specialized disaster broadcasting."
Meanwhile, the Korea Community Radio Broadcasting Association currently has 27 member companies, including 20 newly licensed community radios in July this year and 7 existing community radios, playing a grassroots media role by encouraging local residents' participation.
