[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Chilsung Beverage announced on the 2nd that it signed a business agreement for '42 Street for Commercial Area Revitalization' at the Sadang 2-dong Community Center with the merchant associations of four markets in the Dongjak commercial district renaissance project area and the Sadang 1·2-dong residents' autonomous associations.

'42 Street' is a representative content composition project for revitalizing the themed street connecting Sadang Station and Isu Station, part of the 'Dongjak LINK Commercial District Renaissance Project,' which was selected for the 'Commercial District Renaissance Contest Project,' a regional commercial district revitalization project led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. The 'Sadang-Isu Station' commercial district is a regional representative commercial area located along Dongjak-daero 1 to 31-gil, housing about 820 stores.

Through this agreement ceremony, Lotte Chilsung Beverage plans to support small business owners exhausted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and contribute to revitalizing the commercial district by providing attractions and entertainment to citizens visiting the local streets.

Lotte Chilsung Beverage will collaborate on projects such as improving harmful environments and street branding using its flagship carbonated beverage brand, Chilsung Cider, and will carry out various win-win activities targeting merchants, including support for food waste disposal costs, menu design consulting, and the creation of smart commercial districts.

Additionally, through various social contribution activities such as water bottle collection and upcycling campaigns and meal services for the underprivileged, the company plans to accelerate ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.

A Lotte Chilsung Beverage official said, “Through this agreement, we hope that '42 Street' will establish itself as a famous place visited by many citizens and that the local commercial district, which had slowed down due to COVID-19, will be revitalized.”
