According to the finished car industry on the 1st, Hyundai Motor Company sold a total of 312,602 vehicles globally last month. This is a 17.1% decrease compared to the same month last year.
Domestic market sales were 62,071 units, down 11.4%. In the Recreational Vehicle (RV) segment, a total of 21,06 units were sold, including the Palisade (4,503 units), Casper (3,965 units), Tucson (3,861 units), Santa Fe (2,895 units), and Ioniq 5 (2,228 units). In the sedan segment, a total of 17,551 units were sold, including the Grandeur (6,918 units), Sonata (5,179 units), and Avante (5,441 units).
In overseas markets, 250,531 units were sold, a decrease of 18.4%.
Kia also sold 222,232 units globally last month, down 13.3% from the previous year. Kia sold 46,042 units domestically last month, down 8.9% compared to the same month last year. The best-selling vehicle last month was the Sportage, with 7,540 units sold.
During the same period, overseas sales recorded 176,190 units, down 14.3% year-on-year. The Seltos became the best-selling model overseas with 22,929 units sold, followed by the Sportage with 20,992 units and the Pride (Rio) with 17,115 units.
A Hyundai Motor official said, "Although management uncertainty continues due to semiconductor supply disruptions and the resurgence of COVID-19, we will minimize the impact on supply by adjusting production schedules, prioritizing the production of models that can be delivered quickly." He added, "Since September, vehicle production has been on the rise."
Korea GM (GM Korea) sold a total of 12,274 vehicles last month. This is a 78.5% increase compared to the previous month but a 42.6% decrease compared to the same month last year.
Domestic sales were 2,617 units, and exports were 9,657 units. In domestic sales, Chevrolet Spark and Trailblazer led the November performance, while Chevrolet Traverse sold a total of 318 units in the domestic market in November, showing a 1.9% increase compared to the same month last year.
In exports, Chevrolet Trailblazer increased by 121.0% compared to the previous month.
Renault Samsung Motors recorded 6,129 units in domestic sales, down 15.0% compared to the same month last year, but exports surged by 1,254.4% to 11,743 units compared to the same period last year.
The star model XM3 led the strong performance. The global sales volume of XM3 in November was 11,535 units, surpassing 10,237 units in September, setting a monthly sales record.
SsangYong Motor, which is undergoing a sale process, sold 8,778 units in November, down 26.0% compared to the same month last year. However, sales increased by 83.7% compared to the previous month.
