Professor Yeohyun's Research Team at Suncheon National University ICT Convergence Engineering Department Wins 'Best Paper Award' at the Korean Society for Knowledge and Information Technology Fall Conference

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced on the 1st that the research team led by Professor Yeo Hyun of the Department of ICT Convergence Engineering received the ‘Outstanding Paper Award’ for a paper related to smart livestock at the Korean Knowledge Information Technology Society Fall Conference.

The research team presented a total of three papers at this conference, and the paper by researcher Kim Seung-jae titled ‘A Study for the Prevention of Avian Influenza in Smart Poultry Farms’ was selected as an outstanding paper.

This paper attracted attention as it utilized a platform equipped with data analysis functions for the prevention of avian influenza, focusing on the implementation results of a system that prevents losses after measures are taken in suspected disease outbreak areas.

Professor Yeo Hyun of Suncheon National University encouraged, “Researcher Kim Seung-jae, while enrolled in the master’s program of the Department of ICT Convergence Engineering, has completed four papers, filed two patents, developed eight software programs, and contributed to ten standardizations in the smart farm field. He was also selected as a research talent scholarship recipient by the Jeonnam Talent Lifelong Education Promotion Institute. With his outstanding research capabilities, he is dedicated to academic development, and we expect him to grow into an excellent researcher in the future.”

Professor Yeo Hyun is conducting research on smart agricultural technology development projects together with researchers Kim Seung-jae, Yang Kwang-ho, and Jeong Kwang-hoon.

Additionally, as an authority in the field of smart agriculture standards through research on artificial intelligence and foundational technologies in agriculture, he operates the Grand ICT Research Center at the university and serves as the chairman of the University Information and Communication Research Center (ITRC) Council, striving to nurture convergence talents in the smart agriculture field.
