[Exclusive] 'Breakthrough Infection Confirmed' Jung Woo-sung Unrelated to Blue Dragon Film Awards Epidemiological Investigation

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] Actor Jung Woo-sung, who tested positive for COVID-19 after completing his second vaccine dose, is reported not to have his attendance at the Blue Dragon Film Awards three days prior included in the epidemiological investigation.

On the 1st, a film industry official told Asia Economy, "Jung Woo-sung tested positive in a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test on the 29th and has entered self-quarantine," adding, "According to the health authorities' investigation, the Blue Dragon Film Awards event held three days ago is unrelated to this positive case."

Jung Woo-sung appeared as a presenter for the Best Director Award alongside Lee Jung-jae at the 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul, at 8:30 PM on the 26th of last month.

Both Jung Woo-sung and Lee Jung-jae submitted proof of vaccination before going on stage at the Blue Dragon Film Awards, and it is reported that their movements on the day are not included in the epidemiological investigation.

Furthermore, after completing the award schedule, the two immediately moved on to other appointments, and it is known that their paths did not overlap with most of the actors who attended the event.

However, regardless of quarantine guidelines, it is reported that most actors who attended the Blue Dragon Film Awards proactively underwent PCR testing or are awaiting results after testing.

Ryu Seung-wan, who received the Best Director Award that day, tested negative in the PCR test.

Meanwhile, Jung Woo-sung is a case of 'breakthrough infection' occurring more than two weeks after completing his second COVID-19 vaccine dose. His agency, Artist Company, stated, "Both Jung Woo-sung and Lee Jung-jae had completed their second COVID-19 vaccine dose more than two weeks ago."

Lee Jung-jae recently underwent a PCR test before departing for the United States and received a negative result again in the test conducted on the 29th (U.S. time) to enter the Gotham Awards ceremony, allowing him to attend.
