[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Seul-gi] Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, directly addressed rumors that arose after his spouse Kim Hye-kyung's fall accident, saying, "I thought of it as an opportunity."

Lee appeared on the KBS2 variety show 'Problematic Men in the Rooftop Room' aired on the 30th of last month and said, "If it goes too far, there is always a backlash. When they come over excessively, it's a chance to counterattack."

Regarding Kim's fall accident, Lee said, "When vomiting severely, one can lose consciousness, but she fell and her glasses pressed against the upper part of her eye, causing a cut," adding, "There are widespread rumors about what I supposedly did."

When a host asked, "How do you feel when you hear such stories?" Lee replied, "At first, I was extremely angry," but added, "These days, it happens so routinely that I don't get very angry. I think about how to use this opportunity to turn the tables."

Regarding suspicions about "Why didn't the security personnel notice the accident?" Lee answered, "We do not use security personnel for private life."

About himself, Lee said, "Actually, I am very affectionate and empathetic," explaining, "When I work, I push hard, so (I think) I get misunderstood. To achieve results, I have no choice but to do so." He also said, "The process I have lived through creates a kind of prejudice that I must be 'very rough,'" adding, "(I am) an ordinary human being too."
