Rain and Snow Forecast for Chungcheong and Southern Regions

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] On Wednesday, the 1st, morning temperatures are expected to drop sharply by about 10 degrees compared to the previous day, with rain or snow falling in some areas.

By region, Chungnam, Jeolla, and Jeju will be mostly cloudy, while other areas will have occasional clouds. Rain or snow will occasionally fall in the inland areas of Chungcheong until dawn, in the western inland areas of Gyeongsang until the morning, and along the west coast of Chungnam, Jeolla, and Jeju until the afternoon. In southern Gyeonggi, raindrops will drizzle or snow will flutter until dawn.

The expected precipitation continuing from the previous day is around 5mm in Chungcheong, Jeolla, Jeju, and Ulleungdo·Dokdo. Eastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, inland Gyeongsang, and the West Sea 5 islands will receive less than 5mm, and the metropolitan area excluding eastern Gyeonggi will have less than 0.1mm.

Expected snowfall amounts are 2?7cm in the mountainous areas of Jeju, 1?3cm in inland and mountainous Gangwon, central and southern Chungbuk, and inland Jeonbuk. Eastern Gyeonggi, northern Chungbuk, Chungnam, eastern Jeonnam, western inland Gyeongsang, West Sea 5 islands, and Ulleungdo·Dokdo are forecasted to have around 1cm.

Morning low temperatures will range from -6 to 5 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will range from 1 to 9 degrees Celsius. By region, the low and high temperatures are as follows: △Seoul (-3°C·2°C), △Incheon (-2°C·2°C), △Chuncheon (-5°C·4°C), △Daejeon (-1°C·4°C), △Jeonju (0°C·4°C), △Gwangju (2°C·5°C), △Daegu (0°C·6°C), △Ulsan (2°C·6°C), △Busan (2°C·8°C).

Fine dust levels will be at a 'Good' level across all regions.

Very strong winds will blow along the national coasts and Gangwon mountainous areas, with strong winds also expected in other regions. Sea waves will be 1.0?4.0m in the East Sea coastal waters, 2.0?3.5m in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5?3.5m in the South Sea coastal waters. Offshore waves (about 200km from the coastline) are expected to be 2.0?5.0m in the East and West Seas, and 1.5?5.0m in the South Sea.
