Minister of Employment Ahn Kyung-duk Visits Korea Employment Information Service to Demonstrate Job Counseling Support Service
"To Be Used Nationwide at Employment Centers Within This Year"
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The era of artificial intelligence (AI) assisting job seekers in finding employment has begun. AI analyzes job seekers' capabilities and market information through big data and then informs them of suitable jobs or vocational training courses.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor announced that Minister An Kyung-duk visited the Korea Employment Information Service in Eumseong-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do on the 30th to demonstrate the job counseling support (Job Care) service based on big data and AI technology. The Employment Information Service is piloting this service at six employment centers: Seoul Employment and Labor Office, Seoul Seobu, Seoul Gangnam, Cheongju, Daejeon, and Jincheon.
This system automatically analyzes a job seeker's job competencies through their resume and utilizes the analysis for training, certification, and job counseling. It consists of job seeker information, market information, and recommendation information.
In the customer information section, AI technology first identifies which occupations are related to the job-related content in the resume written by the job seeker. Then, it analyzes the gap between the job competencies required for the occupation and the job seeker's current abilities. Based on this, it provides vocational training courses to build the necessary job competencies at different levels. The market information section provides labor market data necessary for job selection and employment preparation, such as job openings and job seekers by occupation and region, wage levels, majors, training, and certifications. This data was extracted by analyzing 15 million job seeker resumes and 4 million job postings on Worknet over the past three years. The recommendation information section suggests vocational training and certification information for employment preparation and career development. It automatically recommends jobs by analyzing job competencies between recruiting companies and job seekers, as well as variables such as preferred region, occupation, experience, and wages.
Minister An stated, "We will make the Job Care service available at employment centers nationwide within this year," and urged, "Going forward, the Employment Information Service should develop various intelligent employment support programs."
