Yeonggwang-gun 'Beopseong~Hongnong Nationally Supported Local Road' Temporary Opening

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 30th that it will temporarily open some sections of the national support local road expansion and extension construction between Beopseong and Hongnong, where vehicle traffic is possible, to ensure smooth traffic flow and convenience for road users during the winter season.

This project is promoted by Jeollanam-do and started in December 2015, aiming for completion in November next year. It involves constructing and expanding a total of 5.6 km of road from Seongjae Intersection in Hwacheon-ri, Beopseong-myeon, to Hongnongjunggyo Intersection in Sanghari, Hongnong-eup.

The temporary opening on this day at 1 p.m. covers a 1.4 km section from Seongjae Intersection to Hwacheon Intersection, with all four lanes opened.

Accordingly, it is expected to partially alleviate vehicle traffic inconveniences for residents and tourists by providing a detour for vehicles passing through the Beopseong Supjaengi Park, a section prone to frequent freezing in winter, and by dispersing traffic volume in the Beopseong urban area.

A county official said, "We expect traffic flow to improve through this temporary opening," and added, "We will continue to do our best to provide a better road environment."
