[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Digital security company Dream Security announced on the 30th that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 29th with Yoyo Interactive, a metaverse-based XR education and training system development company, for joint cooperation on metaverse platforms and security/authentication systems.
Dream Security plans to promote the ‘hyper-realistic training experience metaverse’ project in the defense sector as a joint business partner with Yoyo Interactive. In this project, Yoyo Interactive will be responsible for implementing the defense virtual training system based on the metaverse platform, while Dream Security will handle the implementation of security and authentication systems within the metaverse, such as identity verification and authorization systems when trainees enter the metaverse.
The collaboration between the two companies in the metaverse business field is expected to build a defense scientific training system with enhanced security and usability by integrating authentication services that incorporate new security technologies into VR and AR technologies.
Recently, as the fusion between the digital world through the metaverse and the real world has been realized and the related market has expanded, virtual meetings and work processing outside of education have increased, and various assets such as virtual assets are traded, requiring personal identity verification similar to fintech. Security must be strengthened to obtain user consent for the use of personal information.
In addition to defense, the two companies will apply security and authentication technologies in the police, public sectors, and private metaverse fields. Through close cooperation in areas such as verifying NFT ownership and avatar identity authentication during transactions within the metaverse, they plan to jointly support private companies’ entry into the metaverse and the development of new businesses.
Meanwhile, Dream Security signed an MOU in the field of artificial intelligence with SNU AI Lab, a machine vision leading company and a subsidiary of Seoul National University, on the 23rd. Dream Security stated that it will secure converged AI and security technologies and services based on the core technologies of both companies by applying security and authentication technologies to the machine vision platform and applying SNU AI Lab’s machine vision technology to the metaverse authentication system.
A Dream Security official emphasized, “Based on our strengths in security, authentication, and blockchain technology, we plan to provide differentiated services that can create synergy through convergence with new business fields such as metaverse, telemedicine, NFT, and AI (artificial intelligence). We will firmly establish our position as a leading company in 4th industrial revolution technologies by integrating metaverse services into various public and private sectors and applying the latest quantum security technologies to the metaverse.”
