Shinhan Bank Partners with KBO Through 2023... "Longest Sponsorship in History"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Shinhan Bank announced on the 30th that it held the ‘KBO League Title Sponsor Signing Ceremony’ to extend its title sponsor support contract with the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) until 2023.

Shinhan Bank and the KBO signed a title sponsor contract for three years starting in 2018, working to promote and develop professional baseball. Despite difficulties caused by COVID-19, they developed a baseball-specialized platform and introduced new types of content such as contactless cheering photo contests and metaverse cheering events.

Through this agreement, Shinhan Bank will hold the official league title usage rights until 2023 and will continue to communicate with baseball fans in various ways, including league broadcasts, stadium advertisements, and advancement of its own baseball platform.

In particular, Shinhan Bank annually launches the ‘Shinhan KBO League Savings and Deposit’ product that links the fun of cheering with saving. The bank also added ‘Sol Baseball’ to the Shinhan SOL application, offering events such as ▲Sol Quiz ▲Monthly MVP and All-Star fan voting ▲Metaverse contactless fan meetings, providing various fun and benefits to baseball fans.

Jin Ok-dong, the bank president, stated, “Through the sponsorship over the past four years, the keyword ‘Baseball is Shinhan Bank’ has been engraved,” and added, “Next year, we will continue to support the development and popularity of the KBO League generously to become the most exemplary sports sponsorship case.”

Meanwhile, through this extension of the KBO League title sponsorship, Shinhan Bank will continue its partnership with the KBO for six years and set a record as the longest-running title sponsor since the introduction of the KBO League title sponsor.
