Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters Provides 670 Million Won in Farming Material Support to Local Farmers Farmers from Gijang-gun are taking a commemorative photo after the agricultural materials support project agreement ceremony.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, trainee reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters held a signing ceremony for the ‘Gijang-gun Farmers’ Agricultural Materials Support Project’ on the 29th.


The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Jun-seok, head of Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters, Kim Jong-i, director of External Cooperation, as well as representatives from Jang-an·Ilgwang Advanced Agriculture Development Council, Dongbusan Nonghyup, and Gijang Yangsan Livestock Cooperative.


The ‘Gijang-gun Farmers’ Agricultural Materials Support Project’ is a project conducted by Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters. The project aims to reduce the agricultural management cost burden for farmers in Gijang-gun and contribute to increasing farm income.


This year’s support amount is 670 million KRW, which is 20 million KRW more than the previous year.


The support funds are distributed in the form of agricultural materials exchange vouchers by the Jang-an·Ilgwang Advanced Agriculture Development Council to farmers residing in five towns and townships of Gijang-gun.


Farmers who receive the agricultural materials exchange vouchers can purchase fertilizers, seeds, feed, and agricultural facility materials at Dongbusan Nonghyup and Yangsan Gijang Livestock Cooperative starting from February 2022.


Kim Jun-seok, head of Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, “Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters will support the increase of income and improvement of quality of life for farmers in Gijang-gun.”
