Gangjin-eup Commercial Area Revitalization Project Selected as the Best County Government Major Project of 2021

[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] On the 26th, Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do held a 2021 Citizen Evaluation Group Major Administrative Project Evaluation Meeting at the county office large conference room, attended by about 50 people including the citizen evaluation group and related public officials.
According to the county on the 30th, the citizen evaluation group was composed of a total of 25 members, including citizens and experts in related fields, through an open recruitment, and evaluates five areas: planning, environment and culture, jobs and economy, welfare and women, agriculture, fisheries and livestock, and safety, construction and firefighting.
The meeting proceeded with explanations of project progress by the team leaders in charge of the respective projects, followed by policy suggestions and Q&A from the evaluation group. The citizen evaluation group evaluated 21 projects in addition to the major projects for attracting public contest projects and securing national and provincial funds selected in the first half of the year, and selected five excellent projects.
As a result of the evaluation, the top prize was awarded to the job creation project and the ‘Gangjin-eup Commercial District Revitalization Project’; the excellence award went to the water and sewage office’s ‘Village Sewage Maintenance Project’; the encouragement award was given to the Planning and Public Relations Office’s ‘Efforts to Attract Public Contest Projects and Secure National and Provincial Funds’; the Welfare Office’s ‘Creating a Happy Child, a Region that Nurtures Dreams’ and ‘Together for the Happiness and Welfare Promotion of the Disabled’ projects were also selected.
County Governor Lee Seung-ok said, “I look forward to the active activities of the citizen evaluation group for open administration that communicates with citizens and makes citizens’ opinions into administrative policies,” and added, “We will continue to actively collect the opinions presented by the evaluation group and do our best to ensure solid county administration.”
