[Wando=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] The Jeonnam Wando Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Shin Woo-cheol) held the ‘Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation 2021 Scholarship Certificate Award Ceremony’ on the 29th at the county office large conference room, attended by 74 people including students and parents.


According to the county on the 30th, scholarship certificates were awarded to newly admitted university students from the region, newly admitted high school students, multi-child family scholarship students selected from children of families with three or more children, and students selected from middle, high school, and university students.


The Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation awarded scholarships totaling 314 million KRW to 330 recipients across nine categories this year.


In particular, the number of applicants for the multi-child family scholarship has continued to increase since it was first implemented in 2019, with 230 applicants this year alone.


Accordingly, the Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation has significantly increased the 2022 budget for the multi-child family scholarship to 150 million KRW and plans to support students from families with three or more children who meet the eligibility criteria without a selection process.


The Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation is striving to improve the educational environment and nurture local talent by supporting 2.158 billion KRW for 23 scholarship projects in 2021 so that more students can benefit from the scholarship programs.


Chairman Shin Woo-cheol delivered a congratulatory message to the students at the scholarship certificate award ceremony, saying, “You are the future leaders of Wando, so I hope you do your best in everything, develop your capabilities, and diligently pursue your dreams.”


Meanwhile, since its establishment in 2007, the Jangbogo Scholarship Foundation has raised scholarship funds totaling approximately 16.7 billion KRW with the participation of county residents and hometown supporters, and has awarded scholarships totaling 2.821 billion KRW to 3,040 recipients.
