TIPA, a Platform for Technology Exchange to Support SMEs in New Industry Sectors


[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] The Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA) announced on the 30th that it jointly hosted the "Korea-Germany Lightweight Technology and Composite Material Design Online Seminar" with the Korea-Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI).


The Korea-Germany Lightweight Technology and Composite Material Design Online Seminar, held online on the 29th, was organized to meet the demand for technological exchange between Korea and Germany by strengthening environmental regulations worldwide and improving energy efficiency, as well as to address technical difficulties faced by companies.


Experts attending the seminar presented the latest technologies on lightweight technology and composite material design for SMEs in both Korea and Germany.


Professor Hubert Jaeger of Dresden University of Technology (Germany), spokesperson for the German CU (Composite United) Executive Committee and CEO of InDeKo, introduced "Lightweight technology as a sustainable industrial development method amid its impact on the global energy scenario." Dr. Pavod Nezami, CEO of CIKONI GmbH, a leading German composite material solutions provider, focused on presenting "Hydrogen storage and structural CFRP design cases."


Dr. Moon Min-seok of the Korea Carbon Industry Promotion Agency's Convergence Research Headquarters presented on "Development of traffic light frames using hybrid composite materials," and Shin Do-hoon, manager at Korean Air, spoke about "Current status of process development for composite parts application in aircraft."


TIPA President Lee Jae-hong stated, "The Korea-Germany Lightweight Technology and Composite Material Design Online Seminar has laid the foundation for active technological exchange between Korea and Germany in new industrial fields such as lightweight technology and composite material design," adding, "Furthermore, we will continue to support Korean SMEs to lead the industry as core companies in the fields of lightweight technology and composite materials."
