[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Kim Hye-kyung, wife of Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party of Korea's presidential candidate, recently addressed the controversy over excessive media coverage related to her fall accident, saying, "I believe the public filters out what is excessive, so I have faith in them."

In an interview with JTBC on the 29th, Kim said, "At first, it could have been hurtful and bothersome, but ultimately, our people nowadays are wise, and the time for things to return to normal is quick. These days, with social media and channels to explain, people filter out serious or exaggerated things like before," she explained.

Regarding her recovery from the fall accident, she said, "I have almost fully recovered, and thanks to everyone's concern, I am fine."

On the same day, Kim also introduced Lee's working style. She said, "(Lee) thinks deeply by himself about ways to meet the public or deliver messages, then throws questions to me. When he says, 'What if we give basic income?' my first reaction is, 'Why give money to the people for free?'?there would be some suspicion, right? Then, by discussing it from the public’s perspective, I think (Lee) builds a defensive logic."

When asked about the increasing number of campaign events where Lee and Kim go separately, she replied, "There are so many places to go and people to meet, so to be efficient, the campaign tries to send us separately. Presidential candidates and politicians express opinions through policies, but spouses are limited in that regard. So, I try to focus on places that are excluded from policies or those that are somewhat underserved."

She cited communication as her special skill. Kim emphasized, "What I do best is listen well. I listen carefully and empathize, then convey it well to my husband, politician Lee Jae-myung, so that he can resolve issues."
