Gwangjin-gu, December 1-31 Online Application, Proxy (Household Head) Allowed... Annual Child Limit 80,000 KRW, Youth 160,000 KRW... Refund via T Mileage in January Next Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will accept applications for reimbursement of transportation expenses for the ‘Free Village Bus Transportation Project for Children and Adolescents’ from December 1 to 31.
The ‘Free Village Bus Transportation Project for Children and Adolescents’ has been implemented since May this year to guarantee residents' right to mobility and to overcome the management difficulties of village bus operators. The district supports village bus fares with an annual limit of 80,000 KRW for children aged 6 to 12 and 160,000 KRW for adolescents aged 13 to 18 through a post-reimbursement method.
The transportation expense support is provided by settling the transportation expenses for Gwangjin-gu village buses used during a certain period and then paying T-Mileage to the T-money account. Applicants must sign up on the Gwangjin-gu Office free transportation system website and apply for the support. However, they must complete T-money membership registration and card registration, and also subscribe to the T-Mileage service.
The application period is from December 1 to December 31, and the reimbursement amount is scheduled to be paid through T-Mileage in January next year. The reimbursement amount is the total usage performance for eight months from May, when the project started, to December.
Meanwhile, those eligible who already applied during the first application period will be reimbursed for village bus fares used for three months from October to December. Payments for usage from May to September have been completed.
For inquiries regarding this reimbursement application, please check the Gwangjin-gu village bus free transportation system website or contact the Gwangjin-gu Transportation Administration Division.
Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “With the phased recovery of daily life and the full reopening of schools, the use of village buses by children and adolescents is expected to increase further,” and added, “We hope that many people around will take interest so that more students can receive transportation expense support.”
