Jindo-gun, Third Additional COVID-19 Vaccine Dose for Island Residents

According to the county on the 29th, from the 18th to the 25th, additional COVID-19 vaccinations (booster shots) were administered to 573 Janssen vaccine recipients at health clinics in Jodo-myeon, including Gasado and Gwanmaedo, where no commissioned medical institutions are installed.

Elderly residents with mobility difficulties were transported by administrative boats for vaccination, and for residents living near health care posts such as Donggeocha, rapid response vaccination teams consisting of doctors and nurses visited and administered the vaccines.

Additionally, to prepare for adverse reactions after vaccination, public health doctors and medical staff from six health care posts were on standby 24 hours a day to monitor for adverse reactions, and emergency treatment and medical helicopters were prepared in case patients occurred.

A Jindo-gun Public Health Center official said, “Recently, many breakthrough infection cases have occurred, and immunity decreases after a certain period following COVID-19 vaccination, so we ask for participation in phased daily recovery through additional vaccinations (booster shots).”
