Crowds Overflow at Y-Shaped Suspension Bridge Viewing
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Anti-Aging Healing Land in Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam is rapidly emerging as a stay-type forest recreation tourism destination.
Geochang-gun announced on the 29th that since the 6th, the cumulative number of visitors to Anti-Aging Healing Land has exceeded 33,000, and it is bustling with crowds of hikers climbing Wudusan Mountain and visitors viewing the Y-shaped suspension bridge.
Anti-Aging Healing Land was developed over eight years since 2014 with a project cost of 27.6 billion KRW, creating a stay-type forest recreation tourism site at the foot of Wudusan Mountain in Gajo-myeon, known for its beautiful natural scenery, where visitors can stay year-round.
At the time of opening, the plan was to operate by advance reservation for up to 1,000 people per day, but on weekends, 3,000 to 5,000 tourists flock, leading to on-site ticketing and free weekend shuttle bus services.
In particular, the country's first Y-shaped suspension bridge connects three peaks at an altitude of 600m, with a total length of 109m and a height of 60m, and since its temporary opening in October last year, it has become a nationwide attraction.
The Y-shaped suspension bridge is the only mountain pedestrian bridge in Korea connecting a sheer gorge in three directions, allowing visitors to enjoy both stunning natural scenery and thrilling experiences simultaneously.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “Geochang Anti-Aging Healing Land is a healing spot where visitors can enjoy comfortable accommodations and various experiences,” adding, “It greatly contributes to revitalizing the local economy by promoting tourism consumption through the use of local currency.”
