The Hanbok digital fashion show 'Hanbok Wave - The Wave of Hanbok is Coming' is a Hallyu content expansion project conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Craft & Design Foundation, the Hanbok Promotion Center, and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange to help Hanbok industry explore overseas markets. By combining Hanbok small and medium enterprises with Hallyu IP content such as music and dance, it aims to create unprecedented value and showcase the infinite potential and new possibilities of Hanbok to the world.
In this fashion show, more than 100 Hanbok outfits will be produced together with 10 specialized Hanbok brands, presenting the diverse beauty of Hanbok to the world. With a creative perspective on tradition and various Hanbok silhouettes, it is expected to discover new values of Hanbok never seen before.
Last year, Hanbok Wave attracted attention with participation from K-pop stars representing Hallyu such as Chungha, Golden Child, and Momoland. This year, Brave Girls and DKB have been selected as Hallyu cultural artists, increasing interest from both domestic and overseas fans.
Following the global Hanbok fashion show 'Harmony of Light and Wind' by Park Sul-nyeo in June, Dong-A TV plans to participate in spreading the unique style and beauty of Hanbok worldwide by airing this digital fashion show.
