Gurye-gun Hosts 'National Bicycle Parade' on Seomjin River

Enjoying Late Autumn Atmosphere While Riding 67.87km Along the Seomjin Riverbank

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Sunho) announced on the 29th that it held the 'Jeonnam Bicycle Federation President's Cup Gurye Seomjingang Tour' the day before, with about 400 bicycle enthusiasts from across the country participating.

Hosted by the Jeonnam Bicycle Federation and organized by the Gurye-gun Sports Council, this event took place along a 67.87km section along the Seomjingang River, starting from Sandong-myeon Oncheon Tourist Complex, passing through Muncheok-myeon, crossing Namdo Bridge, and returning.

This section is a famous spot visited by numerous tourists in spring when the cornelian cherry blossoms and cherry blossoms are in full bloom.

Moon Jeonghyun, chairman of the Gurye-gun Sports Council, said he hopes this event "becomes a time to feel that we live together in a society where COVID-19 has distanced neighbors from each other."

Kim Sunho, governor of Gurye-gun, stated, "Cycling is the best two birds with one stone as it takes care of both health and the environment," and added, "We will strive to make Gurye-gun a hub for bicycle travel and eco-friendly leisure culture."
