[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Shinhan Bank announced on the 29th that it conducted the "Warm Winter, Sharing Love Kimchi Making" event, delivering kimchi to 140 low-income women with disabilities and elderly households in Guro-gu, in collaboration with the San Francisco Disabled Comprehensive Welfare Center.

Since 2011, over 100 employees from Shinhan Bank's corporate branches have personally made kimchi each winter and delivered it to households. However, due to social distancing guidelines amid the spread of COVID-19, the event has been replaced with a donation ceremony since last year.

The donation ceremony was held at the San Francisco Disabled Comprehensive Welfare Center, attended by Ha Dae-seung, Head of the Corporate Gangnam Headquarters, Koo Hyung-hoe, Head of the Corporate FI Headquarters, and Yong Un-ho, Head of the Corporate Gangbuk Headquarters. The welfare center purchased high-quality kimchi through the social enterprise "Happiness Sharing People (Boksagol Kimchi)" and delivered it over three days starting from the 24th to low-income women with disabilities and elderly residents in Guro-gu.

A Shinhan Bank official said, "We deeply regret having to replace the event with a donation ceremony due to the COVID-19 situation," adding, "We hope that next year the situation improves so that we can make kimchi ourselves and visit again as before."
